A long-narrow road from Bach to Aşık Veysel

This project developed by Sedef Erçetin and Tahir Aydoğdu that aims to combine cello and kanun is one of the rare attempts to search for an unification between Classical Turkish Music and Western Classical Music.

In this meeting, the kanun-known as an instrument to be performed in Turkish Classical Music and folk music-performs an extraordinary repertoire of Western Classical Music and Turkish Classical Music in an harmony with cello.

In their concerts Sedef Erçetin and Tahir Aydoğdu, presents a repertoire to represent different periods and genres from Baroque period to the present day in a colorful and spectacular audial perspective.

The rich repertoire presented by two talented performers include both western composers like Bach, Vivaldi, Eric Satie and composers/performers of Turkish-Anatolian music like Âşık Veysel and Tanburi Cemil Bey.
