Virani, Fuzuli, Kul Himmet, Emrahs from Erzurum passed through these lands. I express their idioms in Turkish. The ghazal recited in Urfa has a great importance for us. Elazig is the same way... The divans sung in Kirkuk, zeybek songs sung in the Aegean and Urfa folk songs are very important for us. Even in our way of life and entertainment, we have small pains. Sometimes we make honey out of pain. We see our lifestyles reflected in traditional songs."
